Your Low Vision Optometrist

Your Low Vision Optometrist

Your CentraSight low vision optometrist is the person that performs many of the vision tests to help and your CentraSight ophthalmologist understand if you are a candidate for the telescope implant. If you are a candidate, the low vision optometrist also helps you and your ophthalmologist decide which eye should receive the telescope implant.

Low vision optometrists are experts in evaluating vision loss and correction. They will play a key role in helping you and your ophthalmologist decide if you may benefit from the potential vision improvement afforded by the telescope implant, and which eye may be the best choice for telescope implantation from a vision perspective. Your low vision optometrist will also prescribe the glasses you will need after the implantation procedure.

Low vision optometrists involved in the CentraSight treatment program receive training on this patient care model.
