Your Low Vision Occupational Therapist

Your Low Vision Occupational Therapist

Your CentraSight low vision occupational therapist (OT) leads your rehabilitation to help you learn how to use your new vision in essential daily tasks and activities that are important to you. He or she guides you in learning the stationary and ambulatory skills you need to get the most from the telescope implant.

Low vision occupational therapists are experts in helping you use your new visual status and way of seeing in daily life. They help you set your vision goals, guide you through your vision exercises, and help you gain confidence in using your new vision skills for everyday activities, such as watching television, playing card or board games, cooking, reading the paper, or visiting friends. An individualized approach is used to achieve your personal goals.

Low vision OTs involved in the CentraSight treatment program receive training on this patient care model.
