Understanding End-Stage AMD

End-Stage AMD is the most advanced form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in which central vision is lost. Central vision is the vision that helps us to recognize people, notice facial expressions, read, and enjoy the visual world around us. End-Stage AMD makes it difficult or impossible to do these things. It can develop from either the dry or the wet form of AMD and is not curable with drugs.
